I thought I would write a few words on this blog about our new range of baby bedding that we now currently stock called the Sweet Little Dreams from a company called Lollipop Lane . These guys make loads of great styles and fun types of bedding for little ones. They really make a great compliment when you kit out your nursery. Sometimes fitting out your little ones nursery can seem so complex it is as if you are trying out for the 70-640 Microsoft exam !! So here are some of my notes....
- A global catalog server (GC) is a server that contains all objects in a forest, even over multiple domains.
- Make sure you enable Universal Group Membership Caching as it allows users to still be able to login to their local server when the Global catalog server is not available. Otherwise they cannot log in !
- The first DC in a forest automatically becomes the Global catalog server
- MS Exchange needs a Global catalog server
- You use DCPROMO or sites and services (MMC snap in) to configure or remove a GC
- There are four partitions (Schema, Application, Domain and Configuration). All partitions replicated over ALL the DC’s apart from the Application partition that is configured to replicated to a specific DC.
- Replicate the SYSVOL using DFSRMIG and there are 4 migration states. The domain functional level needs to be 2008
- Difference between a site and replication is that a site assumes the network connectivity is good, fast and reliable. Replication by nature is scheduled as therefore assumes not.
Okay, thats nice. Your new baby range must be good, one of my cousin is looking for it. I will definitely suggest her this post.
